GARY MOORE Cancels MILLER STRAT PACK Concert Appearance
August 24, 2004Legendary guitarist Gary Moore has cancelled his previously announced participation in the Miller Strat Pack concert on Friday, September 24 at Wembley Arena, in aid of Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy. According to a posting on Gary's web site, Moore is still receiving treatment for an infection to his left hand, which jhad previously led to the cancellation of the remaining summer shows on his "Power of the Blues" tour. After a brief stay in hospital, Gary has been at home recovering and taking things easy over the past few weeks. Any further shows for this year are currently on hold, until the course of treatment has been completed.
Moore's latest studio album, "Power of the Blues", was released in June through Sanctuary Records. Described as a continuation of the rock/blues tradition that Moore started on in the early 1990s, "Power of the Blues" features Gary on vocals and guitar, Bob Daisley (OZZY OSBOURNE) on bass, and Darrin Mooney on drums. Daisley last played with Gary on the "Still Got the Blues" album in 1990 after being a regular band member live and on record throughout the 1980s. Mooney joined Gary for the "A Different Beat" tour in 1999, and has been the regular drummer on the past three albums. "Power of the Blues" is produced by Gary Moore and Chris Tsangarides (credits include THIN LIZZY and JUDAS PRIEST).
